A dozen? Or even more? For me the number is about one dozen, 4 oft them are moisturizers : for face, for body, for hair, and for lips. I never objected having to use these products, because I do need them. And I admit, I like them. I am a fan of body and hair care, changing and trying new shampoos, soaps, body scrubs, etc., happily. But someday, somehow it changed. Fate as it may have been. Must have been. Being a fan of natural, handmade, and do it yourself things, I never thought that I could find a more human-friendly substitute for my beauty regimen. It had been and would have been the products from the big companies sold at stores. The thought of making my own skin care is beyond my imagination. So I stayed in the comfort zone of the store - bought body care. Then I met virgin coconut oil. It becomes my face moisturizer. It becomes mya hand and body lotion. It becomes my lip balm. It become my deep conditioner. It becomes my first aid for burns. Amazing. I no longer have to buy those products separately. And I only have to make space for one product. Isn't it simply simpler?
Mixed with other ingredients, it serves even more needs. As a deodorant (mixed with corn starch) As a body scrub (mixed with coffee ground). In the near future, I am going to make soap from my vco. (Yes, I made my own vco. That makes me even more thrilled!!) Will update you all when I have made the soap. About how we (Annie and I) decides to make soap, you can find the story here.
For now, I'd just say, wow,vco...!! It makes my life simpler, my body healthier, and my heart happier!! Not for ling, as it clogged my pores, sadly. However, different people react differently, so be not afraid of trying vco on your face. Just watch out. If your skin reacts negatively, just stop. I also use vco for oil pulling and drink it for immune boost. If you are crazy enough to venture into the world of vco making, welcome! We share our best tips of making our own vco, here.
